    About us

ISB was established in 1990 as an ancillary arm of the Mortgage Broker, Mortgages for Business, to provide independent financial advice to the local community. During this time, the company noticed that women were becoming increasingly active in the economy but that they experience more changes to their earning power than men when they take breaks from work or shift from full to part time work while they bring up their children.

In the past the financial services sector has tended to overlook the needs of women and in particular married women but research has shown that women more than ever, need to be helped and encouraged to make informed decisions in planning for their financial future.

ISB recognise that it is becoming increasingly important to target women as individuals with their own financial needs. Women need to plan for any changes to their earning capacity over their lifetimes so that they can concentrate on what is important in life and maintain a healthy life balance.

ISB now focusses totally on providing women with reliable advice and flexible financial products to suit all lifestyles.

Clare started work with Guardian Royal Exchange way back in 1985 in London West office in the employee benefits department. She then moved to Henderson within their Statistical research department supporting investment managers.

After a chance discussion with an employment agency, Clare started a demanding position with Standard Life in 1987 as a pensions administrator and soon progressed through all three stages of her financial planning certificate.

Clare was then promoted to become Kents first lady broker consultant for Standard Life until ISB persuaded her to join them as an IFA in 1997.
